Strangers Passing
Where are you going when you pass me by?
In Bangladesh, New Guinea or perhaps Dubai.
You don’t know me, I don’t know you;
Yet we have so much in common; Yes, it’s very true.
Few smile when they’re walking, keeping their own Counsel it seems;
Intent on their purpose, perhaps lost in their dreams.
Some will have worries that consume their thoughts and disturb;
No one cares about ‘Your’ problems, even if they are overheard.
We each have great purpose, yet neither knows what we are about;
Perhaps never meeting again, as our lives unfold throughout.
We have All we need on this World today;
Some want more than others, some allow their Wealth to waste away.
A Wealth that is not monetary, it is the Air we breathe on these fine lands;
Don’t let ‘Greed and Profit steal it from what should be our grateful hands.
As Seas become polluted by waste and toxicity;
Will there really be a better life for offspring of you and me?
